Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes | How to Air Fry Potato Slices?

Ingredients
Potatoes - 500 gms
Garlic powder - 1 tsp
Onion powder - 1 tsp
Italian seasoning - 1 tsp
Paprika / Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Extra virgin olive oil - 2 tbsp
Black pepper powder - ½ tsp
Salt to taste
Instructions
Wash your potatoes nicely and peel them. Now using a sharp knife, slice the potatoes into thick slices of about 1 cm thickness. Try to keep all slices of equal thickness.
Wash the potato slices again in running water. Drain the water out and transfer them to a colander.
Place the colander over a plate and chill the potato slices in the refrigerator for an hour or so.
While the potatoes are chilling, prepare the spice blend by mixing all the remaining ingredients together except olive oil in a small mixing bowl - garlic & onion powder, Italian seasoning, paprika / red chilli powder and salt & pepper to taste.
Give them a good whisk to mix everything evenly. Set it aside until needed.
Once the potato slices are dry enough, take them out and transfer to a large mixing bowl.
Drizzle the olive oil over the potato slices and using a spatula give a good stir so that each slice is evenly coated with oil.
Now sprinkle half of the prepared spice blend over the oiled potato slices. To distribute the spices, you can either toss the bowl or stir the potatoes using the same spatula.
Once the first installment of spices are mixed in, sprinkle the remaining mix of spices and repeat the process of mixing it in with the potatoes.**
When you are ready to air fry your potatoes, start preheating your fryer at 200 C / 390 F and set the timer to 18 minutes.
Spray oil at the bottom of the air fryer basket to avoid any sticking. After it is preheated, arrange the potato slices in a single layer inside the basket leaving a small gap between any two.
You will have to air fry your potatoes in batches so that everything turns out crispy and flawless!***
Start air frying them and flip them over gently using a tong while halfway through the cooking time or when your device prompts you to turn food.****
Continue air frying for the remaining duration. Check the doneness of your air fryer sliced potatoes by tasting one (just one!).
If you feel it needs more time in the air fryer, just return them back for a couple of more minutes at the same temperature.
Once you are happy with your air fryer sliced potatoes, take them out on a platter and serve warm with a savory yogurt dip! Enjoy!
Notes
**Pro tip: Take time to coat the potato slices with spices so that you neither end up with clots of spices at some places nor some potato slices remain unspiced.
***Pro tip: Do not pile up the potato slices over one another; then you will be left with unevenly fried soggy potato slices and not these gorgeous ones that you see in the pictures!
****Pro tip: You may spray a little more oil over your sliced potatoes before and after flipping them over.
